DEEP DIVE PROGRAMME

Imposter Syndrome

12 November 2025

"….. There was always a worm in the apple of their success"
Clarkson (1994)

Invitation to attend

Lack of self-esteem, no confidence in their competence - many outwardly successful people constantly doubt themselves.  They live with a 'sword of Damocles' over them, waiting to be found out.

Rackets (self-fulfilling prophecy), the role of shame and pseudocomeetency will all be examined in this context.  And what to do about it too.

Aims and intentions

In this workshop we will consider:
  • The work of Petruska Clarkson "The Achilles Syndrome"
  • The racket system
  • Life positions
  • Drivers and the miniscript

The workshop

All the workshops on the TA Practitioner programme are conducted online.

Participants receive a comprehensive workshop paper prior to the workshop, in order for them to read and reflect on the TA subjects which will be discussed online.  This means that the brain is already making connections even before the workshop takes place!

The five hour workshops will then provide an opportunity for discussion of the theory, time to ask questions, make links, work on activities to stimulate thinking and to work out the ways in which to apply the learning to your professional practice, or your own personal development.
