Welcome to the TA Tribe website. My name is Lynda Tongue, and I am a Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst.
I have worked in organisations since 1976, but became an organisational educator in 1988. My aim throughout my long experience of working in organisations, has always been to support people to be confident, competent and completely at ease with themselves and the work around them. Some of us carry so much self-doubt that it keeps us stuck; others are straining to be someone they are not. Yet more people are living in a sort of trance - time flies by and they do not mark progress, or stop to wonder if they are on the right road. Through teaching coaches, consultants, teachers and trainers the concepts of Transactional Analysis I help people to support themselves to be more grounded, less stressed and more engaged with their lives. |
Transactional Analysis (TA) is a psychological approach to human behaviour. It offers a framework of concepts which fit together to help us understand what drives us. As individuals, we can apply these concepts to improve our confidence, our communication skills and to enhance relationships. Once we understand how we get into repeating patterns of behaviour which do not serve us well, we can work out strategies to break the cycle and develop richer, rewarding relationships.
TA has theories for individual development, and also some ideas on group dynamics which can be applied to teams, departments and whole companies too. These concepts help us to understand the dynamics between us and other people - starting with what is going on inside us - and why? |
In the autumn of 2023 I will be running a programme of six hour workshops exploring the TA concepts and placing them in the organisational context.
These workshops are suitable for those with little knowledge of TA, and also for those who know some of the theories, but want to refresh their understanding or apply their knowledge in organisations rather than in the psychotherapy room. The workshops are online, they are designed to be interactive and it is likely you will be networking with like-minded professionals from all over the world. The numbers are kept deliberately low, just enough to have a good discussion and for working on activities to support the learning of the theory. The workshops stand-alone, and will be run as a rolling programme over two years. So if you miss a topic for whatever reason, you will have another chance to attend in a few months time. |
Alongside the Masterclasses, I will be running a series of tutorials to support those who prefer to learn within the structure of a qualification route.
These tutorials will be dedicated to the modules of the TA Practitioner Award, and are purely to offer a learning space to discuss the portfolio submissions for the Award. You will have an opportunity to find-out more about what needs to be included in your portfolios, how to demonstrate the TA theory you are applying in your professional role. In a this way, you learn more about the TA theory as you apply it in your role as coach, consultant, trainer, teacher etc. Discussing your work with others, understanding what is required, focussing on writing about your experience, demonstrating your TA knowledge and application - a really rich form of learning. |
