Script Part 1 - Forming Personality

Introduction

Our early years are so important - we take information in at the speed of light, but we don't know enough to understand much cognitively.  So based on our perception of what is happening around us - we add 2 and 2 and often come up with 5, but we think it is 'fact'.

We test out our decisions, but do not know that we are now looking through a frame of reference which skews our thinking - we only see evidence which backs up our earlier decision.  It is a form of self-hypnosis.

There are patterns which we can identify, and which if not interrupted will stay with us for the rest of our lives.

Possible objectives:
  • to gain an understanding of the 'vulnerability quotient'
  • to explore our early years to understand some of our unhelpful repeating patterns of behaviour
  • awareness leads to insight, and then - to action?

I am a qualified Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst in the organisational context.  I teach systemic application of TA - a framework for enhancing communication and confidence!
