IntroductionOur early years are so important - we take information in at the speed of light, but we don't know enough to understand much cognitively. So based on our perception of what is happening around us - we add 2 and 2 and often come up with 5, but we think it is 'fact'.
We test out our decisions, but do not know that we are now looking through a frame of reference which skews our thinking - we only see evidence which backs up our earlier decision. It is a form of self-hypnosis. There are patterns which we can identify, and which if not interrupted will stay with us for the rest of our lives. |
