Communication is the key to managing a team effectively. Employing ways to deepen the dialogue with team members, showing them that their health, safety, welfare and well-being matter to you will help them to be the best they can be.
Investing some time to engage with individual members of the team will pay dividends. You build up trust in this way and that will help a team member to come to you when they have made a mistake. A mistake which may reflect badly on them, on you and on the team. Manage good performance in order to be even better - don't leave it until your only choice is to manage poor performance with all that that entails for the team. |
