Very often in the organisational world we meet people who say they are struggling with making a decision. They have been having sleepless nights worrying about something they simply cannot get past.
Often, this is a sign of an impasse at work. In a coaching contract for this level of personal development, some exploration of where the impasses might be. Is it a Type 1 and therefore quite accessible? Or a more deep-seated Type 2 or Type 3? As a coach, where are the boundaries between coaching and therapy? We need to be clear about the difference between therapeutic coaching, and therapy itself. So while we may understand the process, we must honour our contract, recognise the difference between the types and make a decision about whether to suggest the coaches looks for a therapist. |
