Introduction

Lynda will ask you for your learning objectives prior to the tutorial. 
A fascinating exploration of understanding speech patterns and the order of the sequence: feeling, behaving and thinking.  Each of the Driver styles has a preference as to their 'open door' (where they make contact) to their 'target door' where a leader or a coach might want to move them to while avoiding their 'closed or trap door' - where they will close down and not be available for a straight conversation.

Annie Murray renamed the trap door 'The Developmental Door' - as in this is the place where the individual is script bound and perhaps hurting - and it is the place that most needs attention.  

Come and take a dive and crack the code of language!

Prior knowledge of Working Styles and Drivers
​is a prerequisite for this tutorial.

Possible objectives:
  • to introduce or refresh the Drivers and their speech patterns
  • to explore Paul Ware's theory on Contact Doors
  • to improve your knowledge of the theory and how it is applied as a coach or leader
  • to understand the process of matching, pacing and insight - in order to improve your communication skills or to teach others
