CORE CONCEPTS PROGRAMME

TA History, People, Schools and Fields

09 January 2025

As a communicator - what frameworks and modalities do you use when working with your clients?

Invitation to attend

This is a new workshop, and aims to give some background to the origins of TA and to outline it's development since those early days in the 1950s when Eric Berne gathered a few interested psychotherapist s around him.  He outlined his ideas and founded the Tuesday evening seminars in San Francisco which are still running to this day,

The workshop supports the core Themes module of the Practitioner Award, and aims to fill in any gaps left over from attending the TA 101.

Aims and intentions

  • to stimulate interest and enthusiasm
  • raise awareness of the wide range of TA concepts and the links between them
  • highlight potential choices for using TA professionally
  • Emphasise the need for ethical and professional practice
  • equip participants to discuss TA critically with other professionals

The workshop

All the workshops on the TA Practitioner programme are conducted online.

Participants receive a comprehensive workshop paper prior to the workshop, in order for them to read and reflect on the TA subjects which will be discussed online.  This means that the brain is already making connections even before the workshop takes place!

The five hour workshops will then provide an opportunity for discussion of the theory, time to ask questions, make links, work on activities to stimulate thinking and to work out the ways in which to apply the learning to your professional practice, or your own personal development.
